Why do we allow time to cause us to faint?

word-of-god-speaks

I spoke with a lady last week who was sharing with me an all to  familiar story I hear almost every week. She said ” John it appears I missed God, when I started on my journey with God in 2010. I had such faith and believe that by now my dreams would have come to pass.

The question I want to address is…Why do we allow time to cause us to faint? Just because the manifestation didn’t occur the next day or the next week doesn’t mean the promises are any less true and will not come to pass.

  • Hebrews 10:23 tells us to “…hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;).”
  • Hebrews 4:14 says “…let us hold fast our profession.”
  • Hebrews 3:6 says “…hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”
  • Hebrews 3:14 says “…hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end.”

These scriptures remind us to not faint or get weary in faith but to hold fast to God’s Word. The definition of the word ‘hold fast’ means “something used to hold or secure a thing in place; a catch, hook, clamp, etc.”[1] So, the Word of God should never escape us, and we should have a hook in the scripture we are believing God for. Reel in the manifestation of the scriptures you’re standing on like a fisherman reels in his catch of the day!
