Truth Wins Out

Do you know the TRUTH?

I asked that of a client last week. You probably have heard that what you focus on expands. This was someone who was believing that their situation was something that they had NO control over. If, you are a Believer you must know what God’s word says, not what your Local News or TV Network says.

The Bible says in Hebrews 2:7 that God put everything under our dominion. God had crowned Adam with glory and honor and he ruled in the earth realm under delegated authority. Think of it like a state trooper who stops a semi-truck. The driver of the truck pulls over because the trooper has delegated authority. He has a government that backs him up. Adam had delegated authority until he sinned. Then he gave his crown away to Satan. But God sent Jesus—a man—to restore the delegated authority. So, now if God is going to do something in the earth-realm, He has to do it through those that have authority here. He can’t send angels and Satan can’t send demons. Both Kingdoms have to use man to do things. I hope you got that!

Satan uses a lot of tactics to trick you out of your dominion. In Genesis 3 we see how crafty he really is. He tried to twist the character of God right out of the gate. He said, “Did God really say you must not eat of any of the trees in the Garden?” If Eve hadn’t known the truth, she would have been deceived right away, but she wasn’t. So, Satan changed his tactics. See, he has to get you to a place of agreement because faith is simply your heart being in agreement with heaven. And, just like faith is agreement with heaven, Satan has to get you in agreement, too.

He is extremely sly. Satan knows the word better than most Christians. He takes a little bit of the principle of God, a little bit of the Word of God, and twists it. He uses it to deceive. But, if you know the truth, you can discern for yourself. The only way to know the truth is to know the Word of God. That’s how Jesus won His battle with Satan—He defended Himself with truth—with the Word of God.

Satan knows that faith is the currency of the Kingdom of Heaven. He knows that if your heart holds onto the Word, it’s going to produce. He also knows that it’s imperishable and it’s always going to produce after its own kind. Guess what? He doesn’t like that. He claims this place as his. Many I speak with do not realize what it says in 2 Corinthians 4:4. Do you?

Satan has tactics he uses to get the Word out of your heart. The Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13 tells us some of them—trouble, persecution, stirring up strife, conflict—to get you to let go of the Word. He’s going to try to do something, anything, and he’s going to make it LOOK bigger than the Word. But you can’t freak out! You MUST stay in faith (agreement) with what heaven says about you, about your situation, and about the Kingdom of God. I Peter 5:8 tells us to be self-controlled and alert because our enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. When he sets that stage, your natural instinct (Conscious Mind) is to react, to panic, to yield to fear, to let go of the Word, but God tells us not to let go no matter what is happening. We must stay self-controlled. Yes, the enemy is going to Roar. The Bible says he is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. That roar affects your perception. YOU focus on that roar and you forget who you are. You forget the promises of God. You forget what the Word says about your situation. You forget the enemy HAS NO TEETH! Satan is really a Wimp!

Look at Matthew 17. A man brought his son to the disciples to cast out a demon. The son had seizures and foamed at the mouth and the disciples got freaked out. Now, Jesus had just given them authority to cast out demons a few chapters earlier, but they couldn’t cast this one out. So Jesus came to look at what happened—the spirit started acting up again. Jesus was able to cast the demon out, so why couldn’t the disciples do it? Because there was no agreement between heaven and earth. The disciples heard the roar and they got spooked. The devil LOOKED bigger than they. But Jesus knew the truth. He had agreement with heaven.

Okay here is my question for YOU… when the devil roars and you have the emotion rise up, or your tempted to react, how must you deal with it? What do you do when he says things to you, when he tries to pull you into emotional discourse, or he reminds you where you blew it?

You fight back with the Word. You don’t freak out! You stand on the Word. You constantly speak it. Because the Word of God does not fail. God does not lie. Satan is defeated!! The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:10 to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Stay in agreement with what heaven said about your situation, and stay self-controlled. You don’t have to buy into the roar when you know the Truth.
